I Want Scoble on My Staff

As you saw in one of my earlier posts, my organization has been hit by the branding bug.  It is quite unfortunate that the people pushing for a change in how we do things seem to me to be lost in a different time.  Something before the information age.  They want to spend more time focusing us on a new logo, and on being less technical.  This might be all well and good if our business was not highly technical, but alas (or actually in my mind, thank goodness) it is.

But I am just a low guy on the totem pole, and tend to blow up at anything I disagree with (which means my prior behaviour has made my current opinions less relevant to those who make decisions)

Is there anyone out there who shares my view?  That information is important in the Information age?  That there are things that should take priority over logos and pretty pictures with people in them?

Scobleizer to the rescue!  Below is a clip from his blog, and just another example of why I think highly of him.

<clip> Sigh. And people wonder why I have an ugly design. Here’s a hint: I don’t care about pretty pictures. I care about my readers and whether or not they can read my content without waiting and without clicking. </clip>
