I am mad at you, ASI
Those of you who know me from work will be shocked at the title of this post. Good. I hope I shock people at ASI as well (someone there must read blogs).
I have spent many years of my life working with iMIS trying to make it work well for my organization and defending it against many in my organization who would be happy to see it gone.
Now they have a new version which has some improvements. But they have a new pricing structure which is just outrageous. It is beyond my comprehension, and way beyond my budget.
I feel like this is all a big game. Get me so dependent on a set of technologies that switching would be difficult, and then jack up the price to stay with what I have.

Word of the Year/Sign of the Times?
It seems to me that every once in a while a word will all of the sudden become popular and used all over the place. I have noticed this before but never thought long enough about if there was a connection.
Now I am wondering...
ennui (it's French, so don't even attempt to pronounce it like it is spelled)
I feel like this word has permeated our culture. But is it just the use word, or does it have a deeper meaning in describing the current state of the world, the sign of our times.

Safe and Secure?
...I hope I actually just did not hear this correctly...
On the local news tonight, they had a piece on keeping young ones safe when traveling. It seems that everything in a hotel room poses a great risk to children.
But the one that got me was a suggestion to put tape over the electrical outlets. Not to keep the electricity from leaking out, but to keep children from hurting themselves by inserting a coin or knife.
Knife? If your children are playing with knives, then you have greater safety issues to deal with.
As a child I survived many hotel rooms without having the outlets covered with tape, but I certainly never remember playing with a knife.

If the stations posts their piece, I will try to link to it.

Quick Question
OK, this has been on my mind too much, so I just want to get it out there.
Are consultants more like death eaters or more like dementors?
I have my thoughts, but I would like to hear yours.
